CAPACCIO assisted a major electronics manufacturer with conducting a Hoisting Regulation Applicability Assessment for its three campuses in Framingham, Westborough and Stow. The client uses various pieces of equipment that lift product and raw materials (e.g., chain hoists, forklifts, walkies) and wanted a better understanding of how the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety (DPS) hoisting regulations (520 CMR 6.00) would apply to its equipment and what it needed to do to be in compliance with the regulations.
CAPACCIO conducted a site visit to the three facilities to observe and review the hoisting equipment that was being operated and developed a matrix that included a list of the various hoisting equipment, the specific facility where the equipment was being used, a determination if it is covered by the hoisting regulations, whether a license is required to operate the equipment, the regulatory requirements in 520 CMR 6.00 related to the equipment, and any action items that needed to be taken in order to achieve compliance. CAPACCIO also prioritized the recommendations. At the conclusion of the project, CAPACCIO provided the client with a summary memorandum and matrix including the above noted hoisting equipment information and recommended actions.
